For my Final Project in this class, I want to develop a mobile/responsive website based on shoes and fashion. It will be a mobile website that conveniently converts European sizes into American sizes when shopping. Popular European brands such as H&M, Adidas, Christian Louboutin, and many other brands sell their items online and in stores specifically in European sizes and a converter chart is not always available.The name of the website is StyleFit.com.
I know this problem first hand from working in a retail department store while in undergrad. I am definitely interested mostly in challenging my coding abilities while amplifying my professional graphic design and fashion enthusiast skills.
I initially came up with this idea in WNM 617. I site is suppose to convert sizes from European sizes to American sizes and vice versa. I was never able to get the app functioning properly, and many of the sizes are inaccurate and only 4 countries are featured and only 6 ranges of sizes are shown. Where I would like to take this app is add countries like Japan and Australia, add shirt, jeans, and even bra or underwear sizes for both genders. Right now I only have pants and shoes for men, and dresses and shoes for women, and right now all the sizes are unaccurate. I would also like to add advertising. I think that should be enough to keep me busy throughout the semester but I would like to get it functioning first.
In my project, along with functionality, I want my app to be usable and potentially profitable and marketable to several demographics. The target audience would be adults 18 – 55+ due to its widespread potential use among demographics. Therefore, I have to research what exactly brings users, money, advertisements to a website and learn how to develop it from a business perspective as well as a design standpoint.
STYLEFIT APP I'm happy with the user interface and the way it looks, as I add more options I will continue to use Icons and a Drop Down Menu for the Countries.
